Comments by "Stephen Jenkins" (@stephenjenkins7971) on "France plans for hegemony" video.
@Timo Köhler That is a hilarious comment. Multiple times the MIC has been dismantled at the stroke of a pen in its history and multiple times the US military left a location purely because the locals demanded it.

@mnk9073 It's gross how unironically imperialist you are. US left literally every single time a country asked it; US cannot at any point impose such ruthless tactics as to force a strong allied power to keep US troops. That would destroy US credibility and soft power in an instant.

@pierren___ France encouraged the US to go to Vietnam, I think. And said nothing in regards to Afghanistan. The French also got demolished much harder than the US in Vietnam and handled its post-colonialism amongst the worst in Europe. So idk about better info at all. France had nothing to contradict US claims in Iraq, just that it was wary of immediately jumping in without more proof. This same attitude was adopted in Ukraine in 2022 -and that blew up in its face.

@corvus_monedula Panama literally eventually did that. With US support, no less.

@Robert Groot You're missing the point. Germany post-WW2 actually reflected on its actions and was too weak to try conquest again anyway. It would've been a massively different story if it stayed relatively the same pre-WW2 while making noises about anti-German states next to them. All this without the US as a counterbalance.

@pierren___ I said France did not do so well in Vietnam compared to the US, not that it returned there. Or were you not taught of the First Indochina War where from 1946-1954 the French attempted to hold onto Vietnam until the Vietnamese crushed them in open battle? "should have learned that colonial wars are over" Wut? France would continue its "colonial wars" up until the end of the Algerian War for Independence, which started just a year prior to the US stepping into Vietnam. The US just lasts much longer than France does when at war. "France told the world that irak didnt have WMD" Since France told the world that, you can find a French representative saying as such in a quote somewhere, right? Or are you just flat out lying? "yet the us never excused to France, because they do not believe in their own principles." Idk what you're saying here.

@NeostormXLMAX Are you really comparing US policy more than a century ago to US policy recently? You realize the Philippines asked US troops to leave and it did in 1992. That doesn't even mention the end of US colonial rule in the 1940's as it promised. Are you gonna cry about the Chinese and its imperial past too, while you're at it?
