@user-ir7og3lx2d We have no idea if Turkey's drones are NATO-grade, they haven't been compared in live conflict in comparison to NATO drones. They're relatively cheap and effective against 2nd tier militaries like Syria to be sure, and Russia apparently. It's questionable if they're comparable to decent Western ones. It's true they come with less trying attached though; that has more to do with Turkey trying to play all sides with less technologically advanced weapons. US can't exactly play that game, someone sells their secrets, that's a lot of advantages thrown away.

@SportNut1 Philippines preparing for a possibility is infinitely better than just getting blindsided while placing too much faith. Suppose they'd rather be Ukraine than be like Georgia.

@jasonwoodman9567 Has more to do with Chinese claims over Philippines sea territory; which they have effectively militarized and bullied PH ships from engaging in. Extremely aggressive. Also, China never attacked the Filipinos before because the Chinese either didn't have the means or didn't have the will to do so. China was hardly a major naval power in its history, barring that one massive naval expedition.

@jasonwoodman9567 The claiming of what is considered internationally-recognized Filipino waters and the militarization of it to firmly entrench that claim is literally something that would normally trigger a war. If the US went ahead and forcibly claimed internationally recognized Chinese waters and placed military bases there and rammed Chinese ships from crossing it, do you think the Chinese should just shut up and accept it too? Why are you bringing the US in this? Nobody feels threatened by the US since the US has maintained a large budget for a long time. They have gotten used to it, and the US hasn't used it aggressively against them in a loooong time. If they US tried to take PH territorial waters with it, then yes, they'd become hostile in seconds. And they should.

@jasonwoodman9567 If you call the US interfering in other countries in any fashion as a "major attack from US" then you will have a lot of countries fighting wars on each other all the time. That's a terrible metric. How about you stop trying to weaken the US for your favorite dictators instead of trying to hide behind the "build bridges!" spiel? Be honest.
