@tubthump To start with, said territories aren't occupied. According to Geneva, Occupation takes place when the hostile/occupying army replaces the government of those occupied. It includes physical presence by the occupying army. No such thing is happening, as Gaza, Area A, have their own respective autonomous governments, and, pre October 7, there were no Idf troops patrolling either region. Just what aspect of self-determination are non-Jews being denied? There are Arab political parties; many condemning Israel, Arabs in just about every profession , even a Muslim Arab was appointed to the Israeli Supreme Court. Seriously, you ignore much worse in several countries, how hamas abuses Gazans, but condemn any little imperfection by Israel.

@tubthump No such thing in gaza, according to the actual meaning of the term: An organized effort to destroy a race, group. When you provide advanced warnings of attacks, allow in aid; when several non-Jewish military like Richard Kemp, John Spencer, John McCall testify Israel is keeping within International (Humanitarian) Law, the claims are, to say the least, doubtful.

@zehnerevans7063 No. There is no ocupation by virtue of definition by the Hague Convention. Territory is occupied when it's placed under the authority of the army of the occupier. But there was no Palestinian land to occupy, as there has never existed a nation of Palestine.

@ziad_jkhan Please provide 3rd party refs to such laws. They are preferentially treated in some ways, such as in not being required to serve in the Idf, unlike Jewish citizens.

A lady that worked for the UN ( I think her last name is Ewori) , who disagreed with the claim that Israel had comitted genocide somehow failed to have her position renewed. Hmm, wonder why.

@chrisbamborough222 I think UNRWA defines anyone who descends from someone who was displaced during that period, to be a refugee. This includes 28 year old bella haddid, born in DC, and worth some $23 million. Among many others with nationality from 3rd countries.

@harley5qw1-sz8wt IIRC, bella haddid, born in DC in 1996, worth some $23 million, is, to the effects of UNRWA, a refugee, and, as you said, entitled to claim refugee status. Same for thousands of others with nationality in 3rd countries. Given UNRWA needs its charter renewed to keep operations, let's lobby so it's charter isn't renewed next up in 2026.

In particular not for the Kurds, Assyrians, etc., displaced by the creation of Syria, Iraq, are you? Nor for those Finns displaced from Karelia, nor ethnic Germans, Bengalis, etc. Right? It only seems to upset you when Israel is involved. Utis Posidetis Juris sort of annuls that because there would otherwise be endless discussions to settle boundaries. The world is an imperfect place. Let alone Palestinians were not displaced by local Jews. Arabs launched a genocidal war and lost FA FO.

@jakecross4628 Local Muslims sold their land by their choice, no duress. They were also not forced out. Arabs' nakba account has been, well, embellished, to say the least. Unlike, in ww2 alone, millions of ethnic Germans, Karelian Finns, Bengals. Seems their plight doesn't upset you much.

Just about every square mile has switched ownership. Let alone the narrative of the nakba, of Jews forcing out Arabs, is questionable.

Several Israelis want to live in their ancestral land ; notice, Judea: Jews and, after Gaza and terror attacks in J&S, don't trust Palestinians can be peaceful. Why do you think no one wants to take in Palestinians? Because they bring about chaos with them wherever they go. Just how many Palestinians have been killed, tortured, etc., as a result? Palestinians have repeatedly violated Oslo? Really, hate Israel if you choose, you don't need to make up excuses for it.

@jakecross4628 Israelis can build in Area C. Many of these " settlers" are people who returned there in 1967 , after being _ forced out of their homes; with temples defaced. Others have lived there for centuries and were equally forced out in 1948. But some rabble-rousers, who haven't killed anybody are really that evil to you, seriously? Israelis aren't allowed into Area A. Those who entered by accident were killed. But rabble rousers are unacceptable to you?

@jakecross4628 Before going into a rabbit hole, she doesn't represent nor speak for the State of Israel. Do you know many of these current settlers were forced out from their land in 1948, by Jordan, land which was given to Palestinians? Will you request a right of return for them?

@jakecross4628 That ambition is not " by Israel", but by a few. Rather, Israel itself has offered to return gaza; offer which Egypt rejected, and has actually returned the Sinai Peninsula. It was actually Jordan who forcefully took Judea and Samaria, Israeli territory by International Law ( Utis Posidetis Juris)which was never fully returned. I'm not surprised, though, that you're condemning Israel for supposedly attempting something that has not materialized for 144 years. Or for attempting something before it existed. Not surprised. This is a standard you don't apply to anyone else. Again, many of those " settlers" were born , or descend from others born in Judea and Samaria, from which they were forced out.

@jakecross4628 Israel did no such thing. Arab armies attacked in 1948 and many fled due to the war or to the encouragement of Arab leaders. Unlike Jews; 850,000 of which were forced out of Arab countries. And thousands of Jews were forced out of Judea andSamaria, when Jordan illegally occupied it in 1948. Besides, millions had been displaced in ww2 alone, yet never used it as an excuse to lead constant terror attacks.

@jakecross4628 Those are immigrants or descendants of immigrants. Is there any country all of whose nationals have last names of the exact same background? There is no international law by which all inhabitants must be of the same origin. Do all people in Lebanon , Syria, etc., have the exact same background, or is Israel the only country with that requirement?

@jakecross4628 None were taken. On the other hand, Israeli land in Judea and Samaria was taken. 850,000 were forced out. Palestinians cooperated with the Nazis. Look up " Amin Al-Husseini". This was before the establishment of Israel. There were massacres of Jews such as Hebron in 1929. Even if any was as revenge, retaliation and collective punishment are violations of International Law. Which only seem to upset you when Israel is involved.

@ziad_jkhan Surely they are discriminated about. That's why they aren't even required to fight in the Idf. But many still do choose to fight. It's surely because they feel discriminated against. Your dear Palestinians were forced out of Kuwait and Jordan. Because they're savages. But it's surely all Israel's fault. Unlike what you say, I provide facts.

@ziad_jkhan Do tell us of any such laws. Somehow they prefer to remain in Israel, rather than move to yet another failed Muslim country. The Israeli Muslims are the descendants of those from 1948, who _ were not_ forced out then, contrary to your claim. Not too hard, really. Thus Israel didn't force out Muslims back then, while several Arab countries did force out Jews.

@tubthump Yet they ignore that the definition is not met. There haven't been Idf troops patrolling gaza before 7/10/2023. The Idf isn't substituting the government of gaza nor of Area A. They're an affiliate of the corrupt UN. The UN's Human Rights council includes the likes of Russia, Iran, cuba and Venezuela. UN has condemened Israel more times than Russia, NK, Iran, China, Combined. UN has a comittee to investigate crimes by Israel, but not by any other country. One of the participants in said comittee, one Francesca Albanese, accepted money by a Pro-Pal group to go to Australia to speak against Israel, a violating of basic ethics/impartiality rules. UN has one agency just for refugees of the 1948 war; UNRWA, one general such agency, UNCHR, and no agencies fir refugees of any of the hundreds of other wars since the UN's inception in 1945. Does that seem fair, impartial to you?

Well, since UNRWA is not a permanent agency of the UN, ot must have its charter renewed in order to continue operating. Next renewal is up on 2026. How about we lobby so it isn't renewed? I know Hillel Newer is swamped with work, but it's a worthwhile effort. Maybe we can all join in on it.
