  1. My favorite fact about Douglas Bader - after the war, he became a motivational speaker. At one time, he was speaking at a girl's school. He was telling a war story, and talking about how he had some Fokkers in front of him and some Fokkers behind him or some such, and all the girls were giggling. So the headmistress or whatever interrupts and says "ladies, Fokker was a company that made planes for the Germans during the war" and Bader goes "yes, but these fokkers were Messerschmitts"
