  1. The French Foreign Legion is FAR from "elite". They're essentially a number of prison gangs based on language spoken who are mashed together into a light infantry unit that can't actually communicate among themselves in a meaningful way. They may be tough, but their training is atrocious, their tactics are atrocious, and their history is one of a string of defeats. The FFL is a joke compared to ACTUAL elite military forces.
