  1. While I applaud what these women did, to give them veteran status is not right. While they did step up to do their part, to say that their service was on par with that of the men who actually fought only serves to trivialize what the men who fought did. Delivering trainers to Texas was certainly vital for the war effort - but it was not the same as flying a B-17 to Ploesti or Berlin, or storming the beach at Tarawa or Peleliu. The WASPs should be honored without cheapening the service of the men who fought.
