  1. Shoeless Joe Jackson is not a Hall of Famer. The Baseball Hall of Fame excludes any player who is on the ineligible list. Because of the 1919 Black Sox scandal (where the Chicago White Sox threw the World Series), Jackson, along with seven other players, were permanently banned from baseball. 100 years later, Jackson (who was probably innocent), is still banned, and still not eligible for election to the Hall of Fame.
