  2. That isn't a red dot. A red dot is something entirely different, it's a one power optic where the reticle is a red dot (or something similar) that is projected on glass - you put the dot on what you want to hit and shoot. Think Aimpoint and (the far superior) EOTech. A laser projects the dot onto the target. It's an entirely different, and far less reliable, sighting system.
