  1. I completely fail to see how it's a "problem" that people focus on the three defining events of American history rather than the Teapot Dome scandal or whatever. Simply put, the Revolution, the Civil War, and WWII defined what this country is more than any other events have. While your characterization of the narrative may be oversimplified, it's certainly not untrue.
