  4.  @Bullet-Tooth-Tony-  Casualties and KIA are not the same. 6,821 Marines and sailors were killed on Iwo. Okinawa, estimates of US dead range from 14-20,000. That's just KIA, not including the wounded or missing.

  5.  @Bullet-Tooth-Tony-  That's not true either. At Iwo, the Marines suffered slightly higher casualties total than the Japanese did. However, the Japanese were virtually all killed, and those who weren't were captured. Most of the Marine casualties lived to fight another day. The Japanese were eradicated.
