@norbert-yy4be Yeah....ask what's left of al-Qa'ida in Iraq about that. Or what's left of the Islamic State. Or anyone who fought us in Afghanistan. If you can find any survivors.

@norbert-yy4be I am a Marine. You don't know what you're talking about. In unconventional warfare, the US military has an consistent undefeated record in combat since 2001. The issue is political goals (or lack thereof) and general interference from Washington preventing us from turning tactical successes into strategic results.

Marines aren't better paid than the Army. We're paid exactly the same based on rank...only the Army tends to promote faster.

@jawarakf No, we aren't paid any higher. Across all the military, pay is exactly the same based on rank. A Marine Corps E-3 (Lance Corporal) makes the exact same money as an E-3 in all the other branches. However, anyone deployed to a combat zone, regardless of branch, receives extra allowances like hazardous duty pay - as a Marine rifleman in Fallujah, I was making the same money as some Air Force E-3 in an air conditioned office in Kuwait though.
