That would certainly be far more relevant than Belgium and the Netherlands, two tiny that are allies and have only token militaries.

The beer and diamond capital of the world.

The Swiss Guard would deal death and destruction with their halberds.

Nobody cares about your chocolate, it's your beer that's important.

China would never back Russia militarily. Just because they both tend to vote against US interests at the UN doesn't mean they like each other, and certainly not enough to commit troops to each others' causes. Iran and North Korea would have no way of projecting force to the Baltic states, and wouldn't be interested to either way. North Korea's army is designed with the sole purpose of fighting South Korea, and they aren't particularly interested in what goes on in Europe. Seeing as how that paranoid nuthouse of a country seems to think they're under perpetual threat of a South Korean invasion, no way they'd send troops to help the Russians in some conflict on the other side of the world. Iran is interested in regional hegemony in the mideast. They don't care about northeastern Europe. Plus, the US Navy controls the Persian Gulf, so, even if they did have the theoretical ability to project force, all their shipping would be on the bottom before it got anywhere near the Baltic.

bulg7430 The USSR worked with China in the 50s, before the Sino-Soviet split. There's a lot of suspicion and dislike between Russia and China, and very little military cooperation. That being said, the chance of a US invasion of Russia under any circumstances is essentially nil. Because invading Russia is insane, and everyone knows that.

MPC007_EXP The US 1st Marine Division is about 19,000.

Poffertje Not to mention the US

Invading Russia is ALWAYS a bad idea. Europe might be able to fight off a Russian invasion, but it's been pretty solidly established that invading Russia is a fool's errand. Just ask these two guys, both of whom had done a pretty good job at conquering most of Europe before invading Russia and destroying their armies. You may have heard of them, one guy was Napoleon and the other was Hitler.

MPC007_EXP An army of like 25,000 is a token military.

***** Then there's also the US, who would certainly intervene on behalf of the South, and China, who might intervene on behalf of the North. Those two massive world powers are definitely gonna complicate that equation.

Seramic _Skeptical With another Korean War, you couldn't do an accurate model without allies. Especially because the main combatants would be Americans on the side of the South. A head to head comparison of the North and South Korean militaries is essentially meaningless by itself.
