@bluefalconssuck5881 Exactly. If the whole industry did this, it would get rid of gun control laws real quick. Glock especially needs to get on board.

@RichardCranium321 Oh, I agree entirely. I think that any of us should be able to walk into a store, exchange cash for an M240 that came off the line yesterday, and walk out with that M240, no questions asked. I also can't see a reasonable argument against that under the Second Amendment. Unfortunately, the current body of law disagrees with us, and, well, they have bigger guns than we do. If the firearms industry was willing to help us in the fight for our rights, I think we'd see them restored rather quickly. But unfortunately companies like Glock and Colt and FN make too much on government contracts, and aren't willing to step up. And other companies (most notoriously Ruger, but Springfield Armory as well, and there have been others) have actively worked against us.

@donovanchilton5817 I just ignore them. I have a Glock 19, because it's all I need in a pistol for a reasonable price. I'm more of a rifle guy anyway, and don't really get spending $1000 or more on a pistol. My Glock is reliable, and that's really the only thing I care about in a pistol. It doesn't have the cool factor of plenty of other guns, it doesn't do anything special that most guns can't, etc, but it cost me $550 and goes bang whenever I pull the trigger. A Honda Civic is no Ferrari, but it will get you where you need to go reliably by the same token. Now when it comes to rifles, I'll spend a lot of money on a Gucci gun. But with pistols? Glock is simple and works, and that's all I need.

@RichardCranium321 Yeah, but he's principled. I don't see the bigger companies doing something like that - especially not the European based ones like Glock, SIG, HK, FN, etc. They only care about the Second Amendment in the most minor sense of "gun control hurts the bottom line somewhat". Gaston Glock is not Ronnie Barrett.

@donovanchilton5817 I like Glock. They make a solid pistol at a reasonable price. I wish they'd make a Gen 5 10mm though.

@RichardCranium321 I honestly don't know what the policies of any Turkish gun companies are. I refuse to buy anything from any Turkish company, guns or otherwise. But yeah, the Euro companies don't really have a dog in the 2A fight, and that hurts all of us. If not for them, I imagine American companies could be pressured easily enough.

@RichardCranium321 EAA may be importing them, but they buy from a Turkish manufacturer. The money from those transactions is taxed by the Turkish government, which is run like Erdogan's personal fief. And as attenuated as that chain may be, I'm still not giving a dime to that thug Erdogan. And Turkey isn't Arab. They're turkic. An entirely unrelated ethnic group.

@RichardCranium321 The Turkish language is entirely different and unrelated to Arabic. Arabic is a Semitic language, Turkish is a turkic language. They are nowhere near mutually intelligible. Due to Islamic influence, some Arabic words have made it into the Turkish language, and a lot of the personal names are clearly Arabic in origin (Mehmet is clearly a version of Muhammad, etc), but they are not the same or even remotely similar languages.

@RichardCranium321 They only use Arabic in religious matters. It's similar to Latin in the Catholic Church up until recently. Most turks only know a bit of religious Arabic, and are by no means conversant in the language. "Bismillah al-rahman al-rahim" isn't exactly everyday use.

@RichardCranium321 Yeah. Because it's used for religious purposes. In Islam, Arabic is the language of Allah. The only language Allah understands (which for an omnipotent deity sounds somewhat limiting, but that's another story). All Islamic prayer is done in Arabic. A Koran only counts as a Koran if it's in Arabic. So yes, there is a limited, religious Arabic spoken in Turkish mosques as in all mosques. That doesn't mean that very many Turks are conversant in the language. They aren't. No more than Catholics are conversant in Latin.

@RichardCranium321 I'm no expert in Turkish tax law, but I find it extremely hard to believe that no tax is payed to the Turkish government on the purchase of firearms from the manufacturer to EAA.

@RichardCranium321 Not defending them one bit. I hate Islam and all its works. But I make a point to understand what I hate, to understand Islam's tenets, to understand its contradictions and generally bizarre claims. Moslem and Koran are both acceptable English spellings. They're not particularly politically correct, which is why I use them. And it's also true that they aren't particularly accurate representations of the Arabic - the Arabic language does not have the E or O vowels. However, you see technically inaccurate spellings like this constantly, from the popular spelling "Osama bin Laden" for Usama bin Ladin, to even the city of Mecca, which would be more properly spelled "Makkah". It doesn't really matter, it isn't worth being pedantic about.

I tried correcting them, and you doubled down. So I tried explaining. But you don't want to actually learn, you just want to remain ignorant.

@RichardCranium321 Yeah...that's not what happened at all. I mentioned Catholicism to illustrate the difference between religious and vernacular language. You seem to have missed that point entirely, even after an explanation. I don't know if you're being deliberately obtuse or what, but I'm done. You know everything, whether or not it's actually true. Good luck with that.
