If you're doing guys that held off battalions by themselves, to Tibor Ruben. He was a Hungarian Jew who was interned in a concentration camp by the Nazis. He was liberated by the US Army, and was appreciative enough that he emigrated to the US and tried to join the Army - but they wouldn't take him because his English was bad. So he cheated on the test to get in. In Korea, he held off a Chinese battalion by himself. He was eventually captured, and the Chinese/North Koreans offered to let him go and send him back to Hungary. He refused, and instead risked his life to steal food for his fellow prisoners. An amazing man with an amazing life.
