  1. Iraq. There was nothing TO pillage, and no rape happened. I was there. I know. I kinda wish we'd been allowed to pillage and sack their cities, but there wasn't really anything worth taking anyway.

  2. The Mongols sacked the shit out of Baghdad, rolled the caliph up in a rug, and trampled him to death, and thus put an end to the Abbasid caliphate. Anyone who does that is pretty cool in my book.

  3. In what absurd universe of yours is Abu Ghraib "rape"? Pointing at some prisoner's dick is NOT rape, it is NOT torture, and it isn't even really abuse. It's slightly unprofessional behavior. The only abuse that took place at Abu Ghraib was what happened to those poor soldiers who got railroaded by politicians and the media out on a witch hunt for "war crimes". These people got years in prison for "offenses" that should have resulted at most in losing a stripe and half a month's pay for two months.

  4. SilverAbsol Like I said, slightly unprofessional. Non judicial punishments should have been handed out to those responsible. Putting them in prison for years for humiliating people who were detained as illegal combatants and should have been summarily executed is beyond excessive.

  5. "Torture" without bodily harm is an utterly meaningless word. Ripping out fingernails is torture. Mocking people is not. Acting unprofessionally and not being nice to people isn't something that should land someone in prison for a decade. If you think that's thuggery, you must live an incredibly sheltered life.

  6. SilverAbsol The war was by no means illegal, Saddam refused to comply with international rules imposed on him after 1991. That it was is a baseless leftist trope and nothing more. And because those soldiers at AG were railroaded by an outrage peddling media and a political establishment desperate to avoid negative press doesn't make them guilty of any of that "torture" nonsense. Far left talking points are rarely true and have nothing to do with what actually happened.
