@UC0cCf-YP5pY870l0XKBn2sQ Show me a source on both of those numbers. Because I don't buy that 90 people were shot crossing the Mexican border into the US - at least not by Americans. If that includes cartel violence, that's something entirely different. As for the Berlin Wall, a quick check found that the MINIMUM estimate of people killed attempting to cross it is 136, though it's likely over 200. This doesn't count, of course, the people who were "disappeared" for plots that never made it that far. Even if your numbers were accurate - and they aren't - it's two different things entirely. The Berlin Wall was meant to keep subjects in, meant to control the people of East Germany. The Mexican border is (poorly) designed to keep people out. Big difference.

@skabbigkossa There's no such thing as "passive violence" - it's a literal oxymoron. The rumors of substandard conditions at the US border have all been exposed as false, and conclusively so. Saying "you can't come and take advantage of us" is nowhere near the same as saying "you must stay under our rule". Your comment was intellectually lazy.

@skabbigkossa No, exposed as in "none of the claims made were at all verifiable and many were demonstrably false". Asylum isn't a human right, it's a privilege to be granted at the discretion of the grantor. Economic migrants are by no means eligible for it.
