The most expensive rifle I own today is an LWRC M6IC, which goes for about $2500. It does everything else better than this Whitworth, but it sure as hell can't shoot out to 1800 yards with any degree of accuracy at all, and I'm not sure if it could hold under 1 MOA at 500, because (1) whatever the rifle can do, I sure as hell can't, and (2) I don't have a range anywhere near me that offers such a distance.

Sub MOA accuracy back in the 1850s? That is impressive. I've been watching a lot of britishmuzzleloaders lately, and what I learned from his channel is that the much touted accuracy from early muzzle loading rifles was about 8 MOA - which today would be considered atrociously inaccurate.
