  1. This isn't uncommon even today. The L85 rifle used by the modern British Army can only be used right handed, due to massive design flaws. Therefore, all British soldiers are taught to fight right handed, regardless of their natural dominant side. Only like 15% of the population is left handed, and most things, especially things designed for mass groups of people, are designed to be done right handed.
