Fusion might actually prevent war. It’s such a clean and efficient energy source that it eliminates the need for conflict and competition. That leaves only wars out of ideology, humanities last great weakness. Fusion unlocks the solar system and all of its resources. That eliminates resource scarcity, water included. It allows us to power more efficient infrastructure that could lead to an Earth capable of hosting 1 trillion humans. Fusion will finally make humanity a full type 1 civilization and put us on the fast track to becoming a full type 2 civilization. This could finally be harmony and peace amongst our species.

@joeantolak4629 lol this comment is pure ignorance. The moon has been bombarded for millions of years with astroids. The moons has gained millions of pounds of mass. All of that and our moon is still our moon. Humanity could chuck and detonate every nuclear warhead ever made at the moon. The result? Nothing really. All of our nukes combined equals about a medium-sized asteroid in terms of kinetic force. The moon used to eat those for breakfast mate.
