  1. Absolutely correct. When I first went to Afg (2005), I wondered why a big part our base was "a base within a base". It was the USGS (US Geological Survey). They had way better maps than our army maps. I was in Afg for 8 yrs. Then I saw a NYT piece about how the USGS estimated that the mineral wealth was "over $1T." 💰 I get a chuckle out of "thank you for your service"... my service to who?
