Not necessarily you just need to learn that as a developer you need to have VERY small interactions with your community If you have too much you will be overwhelmed and you will also attract the idiots that do nothing but hound you all day and bring that negativity towards you And eventually it will turn you yourself into such a negative individual and it will only prove their point

The guy running it unfortunately didn't do as well as a job he could managing the online community but also as well the community were pretty much not following rules so again there was just a negative feedback loop building of this guy banning someone for not following the rules and then resulting in the community getting butt hurt and crying resulting in more bans and the community at large only further perceiving the guy as an ogre and also him turning into more of a person to make quick judgments based upon anger and annoyance The toxicity was there on both sides but again it was initiated by dumb idiots within the community it only was the repeated use of the dumb idiots that caused the guy running the whole show to become slightly toxic himself

This sounds a combination of both a thin-skinned developer as well as a toxic community but hey I could be wrong

I'm in the same boat I agree with most of the points but at the same time this guy, this developer, I don't believe he had the best of social skills and I believe he was also too connected to the community that he was placating, Ergo his frustration, That too much time spent interacting with the community caused him to be angry and frustrated because the community was saying stupid questions there by causing him to issue bans and only the further fan the flames of the community seeing him as a ogre of sorts causing him again to be frustrated and angry and result in more bans A negative feedback loop And yes forcing rules of only speaking English is a little too much but then again that's what these discord people do Once they set up and own a discord they develop like an overnight God complex and just set whatever rules and regulations that they want

It's actually funny because it's a bad example the Germans didn't know how to use the enigma properly one of the many reasons why their code was broken was because they didn't know how to properly change it and they grew into a habit of complacency regarding their opsec

He may have the right to do what he wants under his own discord channel but perception is everything and even if he is making rules and people aren't reading them (Now I'm not defending their stupidity) but it only adds further to the perception of him being seen as a ogre by the same again smooth brain idiots that can't read a manual So essentially you have a negative feedback loop feeding into itself where the straw that breaks the camel's back finally happens
