Slaps hand on table "Thank you!" Seriously when should a nation allow non citizens to participate in their politics? Should I go cast a vote in france because I vacationed there for 2 weeks at the same time they were holding an election? NO!

@RonJDuncan non citizens can become naturalized and I think that should be their reward for pursuing naturalization Hey, you want a say in government policy? Then focus on getting naturalized not just your long term residence

Yeah as a Puerto Rican I am glad you empathize with us and our inability to vote in a national level election

@Giggl3z0404 it does, we can vote in local elections and if we move off PR we can vote in a national level election but we cannot vote in a Nation level election while PR is our legal residence

@AB-hu4fc we all ready voted for statehood, we did it at the exact same time as the 2020 presidential election And we voted yes I'm not BS ing you search up "Puerto Rico 2020 statehood election results" The congress is just not getting off their ass to give us statehood

@AB-hu4fc and no we pay federal taxes as well as territorial taxes, in fact our local tax and federal taxes are some of the highest in the country

@ChimeraTruely the Americans that mail their votes in still have their legal residence set inside the US Such as military members, who MUST declare a state or territory to be their legal residence prior to joining, even if they are stationed overseas

Federal constitutional law in voting is VERY clear Why states thought they can subvert it I have no idea Watch as those who support the law of non citizens voting argue that it's "states rights" to do so

@ChimeraTruely we are the only spot in the universe that cannot participate in a national level election Since an astronaut in space sent in his vote
1
@ChimeraTruely if your legal residence is PR you cannot participate in a national level election
