Yeah it's true but really he had to take drastic measures but drastic measures was what was needed Crime so bad you couldn't walk a city block w/o high chance of being ded it just remains that hopefully the institutions of El Salvador will have the reform they desperately need to ensure that level of criminality doesn't get that high again Otherwise yes this will just be like pumping air in an already flat tire, it's good for a while but it will go flat again as the main culprit hole was never patched I will remain cautiously optimistic, and I think we all should be cautiously optimistic We can applaud bukele for his achievement, and it is one worthy of applause but we can also criticize when needed and trust me the institutions of El Salvador are worthy of that same criticism This is El Salvador's fork in the road moment in history, it can either greatly improve it's government infrastructure with time given by the much welcome break in criminality Or it will be a fluke and criminality will return, because the corruption of the law enforcement was never addressed This is the make or break moment, and I WANT El Salvador to make it it's people deserve that much
