I can't remember if of the Portuguese also ever conquered it or did they just set up a trading post? I know they named it Formosa back in the day

Sadly it's because nobody recognized Tibet as an independent country The British empire sort of did, but not really they only mentioned Tibet because they wanted a buffer state between themselves and Imperial Russia at the time Otherwise Tibet has been a part of China since it was conquered in 1720 and when Lasha was burned in 1724 The Chinese have never once earned their consent of Tibetans to rule over them and they absolutely don't deserve to continue their rule over Tibet
