  1. Ok I will settle this. They all were Jewish. Jesus was also Jewish. The Jewish orthodoxy believed in a prophecy of a warrior king similar to king David who would free them from Roman oppression. As Jesus began his preaching he split the Jewish community into an entirely new religion, because his followers believed he was the fulfillment of the liberator prophecy. The Jewish orthodoxy disagreed. They still disagree to this day. They again wanted a warrior, not a preacher. And while Jesus was against the Romans and although he refused to acquiesce to Roman emperor worship. He continually disavowed the use of violence to reclaim the land of Judea from the Romans. This preaching against Roman rule got him arrested, judged and subsequently killed. All done under Roman law and through Roman authorities The Romans did the killing, the Jews condemned him and his nonconforming beliefs and cast him out of their community. That's it! They did Not sell him out or inform on him to Roman authorities. They simply refused his beliefs and maintained their line in the sand and claimed that Jesus is not the representative of the entire Jewish community I hope this solves the issue. -Sincerely, a polytheist pagan

  2. Yeah pretty much. The orthodoxy wanted a warrior prophet to liberate them. Jesus instead preached against violence. So many of the orthodox followers didn't believe that he was the prophet and saviour they were waiting for.
