It's weird because there are Nubian and Kushite Pharos of Egypt that they could have told the story about in actual Egyptian history But NOOOOOOOOOO they won't even tell their own story of Africa and it's people they need to tell the story of already existing and established stories with now a darker complexion because "muh feelings"

I commented something similar if they really wanted to tell stories about black rulers that that were actually part of Egyptian history they could have researched into the Nubian and Kushite Pharaohs But that's hard work, why bother researching something into the actual demographic of history that you're interested in when you can just take something that has mainstream appeal slap a new coat of paint on its skin and resell it all the while screaming at anyone who doesn't like it as "bigot"

@pattybumklart9045 I know and it shows they won't put in the effort or the work to learn about these black stories they are so desperate to tell

@IntroducingMrLucci oh trust me I know, it's about as short reign as the Mongols rule over China But just like that short 70 year Yuan dynasty reign of Mongolian invader and foreign rule over China it IS part of the larger Chinese history Much like the Nubian rule over Egypt IS part of Egyptian history and again if they really wanted to show a darker complexion ruler over Egypt that's what they could have done but they didn't And they largely didn't because they would have to put in the time effort to research the Nubians ruling over Egypt and they would not rather do that they would just take a story that's already well-known and sell it back to us with a fresh coat of "paint" on the characters And then try to claim anyone that doesn't like it is a bigot

That's the same description applied to Suleiman the most famous of the Ottoman Sultans

@MagcargoMan What do you mean? People are actually interested in a well researched and nuanced story with majority African characters Black Panther 1 proved that You just need to craft the story well not like how they did in BP 2

Ohhhhh hahaha 🤣 Oh my God you're going to need some salve for a burn that bad damn that was good 👍

@clementj Wow that is just pathetic they actually did one an an ancient civilization black female leader and they botched it 🤦 how hard is it to FUKIN RESEARCH?! My god these people want to put in the least amount of effort as possible and yet reap all the maximum rewards, I mean I guess I can't be surprised the Woman King was just as bad as this Cleopatra thing But they did the same thing then as they doing now

@MagcargoMan the first one was good the second one fits that run if the mill pretty accurately But yeah if you want to tell a story of an African Kingdom specifically in Egypt it's there you just need to do the research and the work
1
@MagcargoMan Nah not if it done correctly and didn't attempt to rewrite or remove the negative aspects of history, unlike Woman King which was desperately trying to hide away all the horrible things that Kingdom was known for

@krystalccameron7689 nah you know what I mean lol 🤣 BP1 is just a feel good marvel flick it's not a well researched and nuanced story about a historical African Kingdom But it does take a little bit of surface level inspiration from that, Wakanda is an obvious naming reference to the historical secret gold mines of Wangara as that was the source of Mansa Musa's wealth and that reference is even further reenforced when Wakanda is depicted as the richest nation What I mean to say is there is a willing audience for a historical movie or even a feel good story (BP1) set in Africa and completely told from the African perspective
