@kieronparr3403 actually Taiwan struggles very hard to fill its military ranks the Taiwan civilian population is extremely loathing of their military servicemen They do not like them, and it's why the government of Taiwan has to do a balancing act to ensure that they mandate forced conscription but they try not to piss off their civilian population so they keep that conscription. Really low about 4 months And 4 months is utter garbage of a time period to train a soldier to learn almost anything and then retain it years later in the event of a national emergency Taiwan only very recently changed their conscription. To 1 year but again that's a very gradual change as it currently stands it's still a 4 month service period

@JesseJoyce-cj2xg Taiwan better step up then and start better training and equipping their military or else it's just going to be the same problem with Afghanistan, surrendering as soon as they meet on the battlefield

@JesseJoyce-cj2xg oh it's much worse than that they can get you even when you're in a safe democracy country like Canada Ever heard of Operation Fox Hunt? The CCP will go after Canadian citizens w/ Chinese ancestry forcibly take them back to China where they face penalty as a result

@JesseJoyce-cj2xg yeah but the taiwanese civilians really need to rethink their impression of taiwan's military They hate it so much they only have a 4-month conscription. That's barely enough time to learn anything They also do not have firing ranges that they utilize on the regular conscripted soldiers go through the entire conscription. Without ever knowing how to properly aim shoot or load a firearm much less any piece of artillery equipment

@kieronparr3403 uhh no they don't, infact the civilian population of Taiwan greatly dislikes their military They loathe is so much that they try every trick in the book to become exempt from conscription and those that are conscripted make sure they are not assigned to a unit that would learn how to engage in combat
