I'm sorry but that just doesn't happen in geopolitics not even when the world was at War and it was suffering from one of its darkest hours of World War II did the idea of giving away implements to fight for free ever crossed the mind of any government leader No instead the United States gave it away in lendlease which the United Kingdom finally succeeded in paying off in 2002 it's a fact Nations do not give away things for free unless it's politically convenient or geopolitically strategic to do so because they are all competing for influence with one another

Well that's because colleges are a business what happened to us in the 1960s the government recognized that colleges were getting more and more expensive so the government decided that it would take on some of the expense of operation costs the colleges were able to recognize that that meant the government would take all the risk so what colleges did once they knew that the government would pay for everything they raised their prices significantly

Yes Caspian report already did a video years ago about foreign aid and what it can potentially do to harm another Nation that's the recipient But at the same time there are practical reasons why the US also engages in foreign aid the US for example makes so much food that if all of it went to market it would crash food prices so low that farmers would be out of business as a precaution some of the food that is produced is bought by the US government at slightly higher market prices so it can be delivered to developing nations as a means of keeping it out of the US domestic market And yes national debt never expires recall the lendlease act of World War II the United Kingdom had to pay that debt off of all the weapons and material they needed during the war and they didn't succeed in paying it off until 2002

Also just for clarification debt is bad sure but unlike in previous centuries such as an 1800s no country can be invaded and removed from the map for refusing or being unable to pay their debts (See how France attempted to justify it's invasion of Mexico) So even with everything that Jake Tran has said the idea of what can happen to a nation that goes into debt has actually drastically improved over the centuries

Not even close, foreign aid being turned into debt is a common tactic seen across the world when nations compete for influence The Chinese do it as well, and they are the least subtle about it

Yes and no it's about geopolitical and national influence When the G8 wanted to gain some more influence in those developing countries they simply forgave over 3 billion dollars of debt So no countries can be indebted and can be forgiven the trick is the creditor country will only do so when it's politically convenient and that makes sense because in the world of geopolitics there's no morals there's no ethics
1
@ur_my_daddy no actually there was not from a geopolitical standpoint the Nations found it better to have that war suffering Nation to be indebted to them again we're looking at it through a moral and ethical lens because you and me we are not on the top of government making policy

@MasterCucks the thing is aid can be turned into loans at any time it just depends on when the creditor government wants to do so And you don't have to have it be a loan just having foreign aid in the nation already pivots that Nation to at least acknowledge you and somewhat listen to what you have to say when you try to influence it and it's policies
1
@MasterCucks it's not a narrative every single nation does this every single nation is competing for influence and every single nation loves it when there's a conflict because they rush in they offer up whatever it is they can to either Nation to try and gain allies in that nation and become it's friend And one of the tactics that they use is what Jake Tran is describing in this video

@ryanc00p3r3 I mean it's exactly that, where the US will try to claim it's aid is to help the Ukrainians, which to be fair it is but not as helpful as Jake has already said the Chinese by contrast will just blatantly say they want to build a massive infrastructure project in a 3rd world nation it doesn't need and force that government to cede ownership of it, typically it's a port or an energy production facility And it's happened many times, Sri Lanka is probably the worst sufferer of this where 90% of its GDP now is being paid off for debt that the Chinese have invested into the nation

I've been saying that for years yes 9/11 type events happen every day all across the world Heck there's been a genocide pretty much every decade since 1945

Law 40: Despise the free lunch What is offered for free is dangerous—it usually involves either a trick or a hidden obligation. What has worth is worth paying for. By paying your own way you stay clear of gratitude, guilt, and deceit. It is also often wise to pay the full price—there are no cutting corners with excellence. Be lavish with your money and keep it circulating, for generosity is a sign and a magnet for power. By giving the appropriate gift, you put the recipient under obligation. Generosity softens people up—to be deceived. By gaining a reputation for liberality, you win people's admiration while distracting them from your power plays. By strategically spreading your wealth, you charm the others, creating pleasure and making valuable allies.

It is insane yes but that's geopolitics for you in the world of geopolitics there is no morality there is no ethics there is only national capabilities both real and perceived and national interests in the United States is in the position that it can expand its interests in Eastern Europe if it comes to the defense of Ukraine economically
