  2. @guru47pi  no it never did subsist on facts and reality government heads were being morons for decades you just didn't see it in the day to day in 1977 when I was working unless your job was a government job it was just harder to catch government Representatives acting stupid because there was no internet back then you didn't have 24-hour real-time access to everything every single government position and the people in them were doing And you didn't have the ability to see drafted legislation go through its process before it published in real time and before it's even voted on to get your opinion on it And again trying to balance the wants and needs of a competing population of 300 million people makes those failures of that government much easier to see to an outsider looking in
