  1. NOW! I understand why Duterte kept saying "Mr Obama you can go to hell" all those years ago. It's seen as a betrayal. It's similar to the reason why the Trump administration had to abandon it's Kurdish allies in Syria because Turkey labelled them a "terrorist group" and used it's NATO membership to tie the hands of the American government by basically saying "I'm your NATO ally you can't arm any group that I call hostile, you have to abandon them."
