  2. ​ @Umu_Eri it's not considered safe to use anymore as the Houthis in Yemen will attempt to attack anything that transits it And no one wants to be the one to take on the Houthis not because they can't defeat them but because of the high cost in material and resources to occupy and deal with the humanitarian crisis in post Houthi controlled Yemen So it's kind of a strange W for the Houthis they get to use their poverty as a shield from more powerful nations like the US from directly stopping them Instead the US has to defend ships transitioning the Suez canal and and stop Houthi controlled drones worth 20,000$ using rockets and missiles worth millions of dollars So the Houthis also get to inflict damage of an economic impact even when they fail
