"They didn't know it was a scam" Luckily the SEC doesn't give a shit if someone KNOWS they were selling valueless securities and only that the speaker was irresponsible enough TO SELL valueless securities.

I think that identifying a ponzi scheme should be taught in literally every math class from high school. When someone says "we will make money by getting more people in the program to give us money" and that's literally the end of the sentence, it doesn't matter how many people "get involved." Eventually the money runs out

It's almost like systems built on greed and personal wealth at all costs are unstable and readily exploitable.

@TomNook. "like a lot of CEOs" That's not an endorsement of his ability to do anything. Any idiot with money can become a CEO - and they do, all the time.
15
@isaac3140 don't bother. His brain is basically mush if he thinks that 5 people holding 98% of a country's wealth is a great economic system
14
He's a billionaire BECAUSE he does this kind of shit lol

@taylorcliff6609 Most multi-member LLCs have a CEO structure. I run a small business and know other people with businesses - and have met many CEO positions who are simply unqualified and only hold that position because they bought the most position or contributed the most money to the project.

@shane7646 crypto is a security Did you read what a Security is? It's a large category of goods that crypto will fall under by inevitable action, not merely by regulation.
9
@Primus_Rodimuss "What's wrong with conning the financially illiterate by lying about the source of your income and building it on a pyramid scheme of desperate people who put fiduciary trust in my advice?" Get therapy dude.
8
That's just Capitalism
8
@zachburskey8868 Courts have treated all cases involving theft of Bitcoin or any cryptocurrency as a Securities claim. The jurisprudence is set already and the only reason the SEC wouldn't do something would be if it were politically disadvantageous to do so.
8
@ラテちゃん Yeah. Because criminals shouldn't get to run away with the bag they robbed from people
8
@coaxialembryo >use common sense If common sense were enough then it wouldn't have gotten so many people in the first place. Likewise, there us a phenomenon called FOMO that ultimately comes into play.
7
Never forget: The only legal defense against Libel and Slander is the truth.

@Safwaan Name me one person who was taxed into poverty. One. You can't because you live in a fucking fantasy world where taxes are unfair to the mega wealthy without even knowing how much in taxes the mega wealthy actually pay. And you don't understand that even a wealthy person paying $1 is receiving less taxes on income than the poor person paying $1 by percentage. The wealthy person is literally giving a lower percentage of the total wealth (0. 01% in this example) than the more-poor person (1% in this example). Your argument is that the wealthy should be taxed less than the poor.
7
@NsLHD I'm gonna screenshot your response and when that bubble hits deflation I'm gonna email you $10k an original, one-of-a-kind image of you eating your own words NFT.
6
@ganvalexposure2163 it's almost as if cryptocurrency is a pyramid scheme
6
@Safwaan "but not too much -" You don't even know what the effective corporate tax rate is right now, do you? Lol
6
@Safwaan "rich people discriminated against" My dude doesn't know how discrimination works and thinks that paying an equitable share of taxes is somehow "unfair." $1 from the man who has $100 is less a contribution than $1 from the man who has $1000 and $1 from the man who has $10,000. Conservatives are bad at math.

@wizzyno1566 During the COVID-19 pandemic, the wealth held by billionaires in the U.S. increased by 70%, with 2020 marking the steepest increase in billionaires' share of wealth on record.

@morpheusbott3370 Saying that you must purchase an item in order to win any prize is against federal law. Once payment is REQUIRED it becomes a lottery. If you haven't noticed, every single legit company running raffles or sweepstakes have an entire section in their stuff on how to enter the contest without paying money - not because it's good business sense (especially since people hardly use them), but because it's illegal to mandate purchases or financial transactions as part of any giveaway. If this regulation didn't exist I could open up a gum company tomorrow, charge each person $7, and the wrappers would be the raffle ticket serial number versus a nightly drawing.

@archibaldhernandez5553 it's a legal means of bribery that exists solely in a loophole that was created by conservatives
3
@keilanhamilton7587 >one lie in the book Did you watch the fuckin video my guy? He literally pointed out several key falsehoods and lies. And no. You don't get to make shit up, attribute it to a famous person who said the exact opposite, then reneg with "It's good advice." If you agree with Napoleon Hill you disagree with Andrew Carnegie. Period. Statement. Declarative sentence.
3
Lol no it doesn't. It increases perceived value of the small group of persons producing NFTs to other people trading NFTs
2
@xenioralad3159 "some" == extremely few
2
@stefanyuwono1909 weird how you only claim he criticizes only billionaires when he addresses all wealth inequality, and it's even more weird you're out here acting like 1 billion is equal in scale to 1 million.
2
I would also like to think he's the kind of guy who - if presented with a reasonable explanation - would investigate and report as such. He is what every journalist should aspire to be.

Libertarians: "REGULATION IS OPPRESSION. BUY CRYPTO. FUCK DA GUBMENT" >Crypto/NFTs turn into obvious scams Libertarians: Surprised Pikachu face
2
It would still be illegal (you cannot place any mandatory purchase on a sweepstakes giveaway) but the reason he is doing the mandatory sale is to create false demand on his products. "I may give away money" vs "I will give away money."
2
When he said "40,000 in the next 300 boxes" I just paused the video. 4x3 with 6 zeroes behind it? Lolol I don't think you get to a million dollars via legit business without knowing how zeroes work, dawg.
2
@MrBadjohn69 filing a suit is literally $20 my guy. It's free if you can file a single document beforehand. Most judges will sign that shit without looking unless it's a lawyer.
2
@candycigadddict The same way "no colored allowed" as an option allowed to people created the nexus by which racism institutionalized within our system when every other nation on Earth just made it illegal to discriminate service based upon race.
2
@kylesmith6141 You wouldn't know meritocracy if it tested your skills on a bell curve and gave out strictly-regulated Evaluations. I know meritocracy. I was in the military. Nothing in the civilian world even closely approaches genuine meritocracy in any workplace.
2
@bengsynthmusic Pretending that anarchy works literally requires the believer to think that everyone will naturally play nice with one another and nobody else will conquer the other ever. Keep using my roads tho
1
@Liamd "can't feel empathy" =/= "doesn't know right from wrong."
1
@mojacodes Where's your shirts then?
1
@lordhater4207 "where does it stop?" With an investigation showing that there was insider information being fed to a third party and that person feeding them info being impeached from congress.
1
My guy if it wasn't entertaining then how are they making money
1
