  6. Hunter S. Thompson's "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" is the DEFACTO EXAMPLE of an unreliable narrator. Every action that character takes and narrates while under the influence of a certain cocktail of drugs changes how he explains the resulting scenario. At the beginning of the book they pick up a hitchhiker and he thinks that the guy is going to tell the cops on them and is looking nervous ... but these clowns are literally bonkers high & wired while ranting about invisible animals and who they should kill lol. The guy just wants to get out off the car and not end up on a milk carton.

  12. Just a note. Watching people struggle in the face of a hopeless effort only to fail can be seen as a contrasting fantasy. Yeah. The hero doesn't make it. But since THIS tale was a fantasy, we can scrub it off thinking that this fantastic world where no good can happen are just as silly as the ones where only good can happen. Another form of catharsis

  13. This is why I avoid RedM servers that are hyper-realistic and will cry about you climbing/jumping/moving on the trains. "UH EVEN IF YOU'RE FIGHTING YOU WOULDN'T GET ON TOP OF THE TRAIN 5 DAY BAN FOR VYL" You can even use the realism by loading express rounds to shoot through the ceiling at enemies below you and vice/versa while the world veers by at a whopping 25 mph
