  1. Hunter S. Thompson's "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" is the DEFACTO EXAMPLE of an unreliable narrator. Every action that character takes and narrates while under the influence of a certain cocktail of drugs changes how he explains the resulting scenario. At the beginning of the book they pick up a hitchhiker and he thinks that the guy is going to tell the cops on them and is looking nervous ... but these clowns are literally bonkers high & wired while ranting about invisible animals and who they should kill lol. The guy just wants to get out off the car and not end up on a milk carton.
