And Hadith which I as a Muslim scholar believe like so many many scholars do, are not all authentic as many have been found to be human additions and fabrications and are not obligatory as command , for they are optional as it is , so in Hadith there might be an indication of execution for apostasy, but Most Muslims don't follow it, since only Quran is perfect and free from human adulteration and interpolation. Capital punishment types for adultery and fornication exist in the bible while according to the holy Quran you are to produce four witnesses to the sin which makes it difficult to charge someone since no body usually commits the adulterous act in front of people and audience that can see it happening. So the stoning or lashing really can't and is not carried out in majority Muslim countries. Likewise the holy Quran doesn't call for execution for apostasy or heresy and that's why majority Muslim populations don't carry out execution of any atheists or apostates. Islam and holy Quran are perfect and flawless and much more merciful and kinder than the bible .
