It's very simple why, in their mind if you make efforts it means you're desperate, if you're desperate it means you're low value which in turns means you doesn't deserve their respect and admiration (aka love from a wman point of view). Why is that today will you ask? That's very simple, it's because their body count is in the high two digits or three digits, in other word their pair bonding ability is completely fried. The "one person dedicated to another" means sh*t to them at this point. One would think, well I just have to do nothing. This will work only if you're good looking and only for a limited period of time, even if you are a Brad Pitt clone and you don't invest in one way or another, you'll get the "what have done for me lately" and she will bail. Either way, it's screwed.

Damn I couldn't even buy something decent in Cambridge and I make £80k, had to buy in the surrounding village... Now I am dying inside because there's basically nothing to do, I am planing to move to Edinburgh in two years.

In fact your story reminded me of what happened to me 5 years ago, when I arrived in England, at that time I was still blue pilled because I was getting out of a 14 years marriage (in good term and from a good wman which is rare nowadays) so I was basically still living in fantasyland, it was also the first time I dated in the social media era. So I met that 36yo Italian in a pub, a real stunner and for like a couple of months she was basically the unicorn, cooked for me, crazy sx, loads of love-bombing (where were you all this time, you're the man of my life and similar crap), obviously back then I bought everything and ignored the red flags which in retrospective were quite obvious, in fact the love-bombing is probably the biggest red flag there is. Well, long story short, she started to change, asking for "stuff", telling me that I was not doing enough for her, that she wanted actions and not words. Once she had a dinner with her work colleagues and she blamed me because I didn't come to take her with my car (which is nice), basically she wanted to use me for narcissistic validation in front of her colleagues. Then drama after drama, throwing tantrums for no reason, crazy stuff, yelling a lot, telling me that men with more money and bigger house were hitting on her. At some point she was the exact opposite of what she was in the beginning, she was not even talking in the same way. So basically, that chick was going from job to job (waitress to working on a call center to waitress again) and she managed to screw the only cool job she landed at the Hilton hotels. She was also sharing a flat because she obviously couldn't afford anything else... And yeah, like you, what I was offering was not enough despite her life was a total disaster from beginning to the end, that was my welcome to the red pill world and I discovered Coach Greg Addams who was basically talking about everything I experienced. At the end of the day bro, it's very simple, over 25 of age, good looking and "single", there is reason for it, you are dealing with crazy and that's exactly why she is single. At 35 of age, they are in survival mode, they are not looking for love or even a relationship (that chick even admitted it in the end), they are looking for a fool to be their retirement insurance. It's crazy all the suff I've learnt in these 5 years i've lived in the UK. Now I just give zero sht and have zero tolerance whatsoever for the BS and disrespect, I even ghosted for the first time a real hottie, 26yo, a mix between Spanish and Italian because she had started her sh*t-tests (they all do eventually), told her to kick rocks and she begged like a POS. No more sympathy for these broads, the nice guy saviour I once was is dead.

  7.  @docmadhattan  It's very rare that they show the crazy from the get go, they're not stupid, they know even the biggest simp would run away. Usually, you're good for a couple of months of love-bombing, then, "Surprise!!! Here who I really am! Why did you think I have that pretty face and the rest that goes with it and I was single you fool? Because I was waiting for you?Mwahahah!!"
