  1. I love the honesty! Self-employment is definitely such a hassle as soon as you want to do something like get a mortgage or sponsor a partner for a visa. I got an employment contract and went back to work for 8 months just so I could gather the documents to sponsor my husband to move from the USA to the UK. Inflation in America right now is insane and the cost of health insurance is crazy! I don’t think people should be punished for being self-employed though I understand it’s way easy to launder money if you are getting paid cash!
