 @margelatu79 his initial objective was to take down kyiv. So he lost that. It wasn't to hurt his economy or have to go into a war one. So he's already lowered his expectations.

@katimboallan4605 it's not Russia fighting NATO. Russia is scared of NATO. And has explicitly said he doesn't want to fight them. At least for now. They think he wants to weaken them internally and then attack where he can.

Russia doesn't allow anyone to report negatively or criticize the government. And Russian media is allowed here, so no idea what you're talking about.

@theworld7094 all you guys have is assange and Snowden and repeat them ad nauseum. But it's not disputed that assange published classified material. and he'll have a trial. Russia has arrested and even assassinated a lot of politicians and journalists. It has suppressed free speech. Kicked out news orgs. Kicked out NGOs.

@CTJ_Double_0_7 I was born in a different country. I can tell you, Russia is awful in how it treats people, Russian and Ukranians. It's authoritarian. Autocratic. It's repressive. You don't have to love or even like America, the US, to dislike those things.

@Pinkwhitney2510 Trump was literally the president. Imagine Putin on trial. That's a sign of a democracy that someone like him can be persecuted. He'll probably be fine. Trump also tried to end democracy and he's still being treated gently.

 @katimboallan4605 at the start of the war, most of Ukraine's equipment was Soviet era. Whatever they got was minimal.
