@briancarno8837 you're adding dumb caveats. They jailed the opposition which they oppress immensely. They killed a politician in the streets. Press is oppressed and restricted in Russia. Not defending Israel. But you're being ridiculous. Considered one of the deadliest countries for journalist. Hundreds have died with their killers being acquited or their murders unsolved. You can find whole lists of journalists from Russia being killed. Then there's the bans, DW is banned, most foreign media is banned. They're jailing journalist for nalveny, or for war coverage that isn't tied to the Russia narrative ect. And that's lead to people not even trying Russia is awful on journalism. That goes without saying. It's an understatement. Russia is so bad it bans Russian journalists and strips their license like Novaya Gazeta. It's censored media. It's bad at every possible level where everything is banned, or censored. Or restricted. Journalists are punished. Crimes against them aren't punished very often.
