in an ideal world, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Dominican Republic would have united. And then maybe the rest of the carib except the foreign territories(or convince them to leave). Or Latin American integration would be further along. I would also like PR to be independent because they would keep their character, and it's the history of the americas to be independent and fight for that independence. It's the history of every country in it except for the ones still part of some european or U.S power... and maybe Canada, I'm not sure what happened with them. But the reality also is that right now that would be a very hard path. Very, very hard. And that most young Puerto ricans definitely see themselves as americans. And the last results for the vote that I saw, the overwhelming majority now favour integration with the U.S. And I'm not one to tell them what's best for them. Tho I think PR would be able to enter caricom, and all the LatAm integration efforts pretty easily. They just wouldn't be much help. As I understand it.
