@link4566 sounds like you'd just keep looking for excuses. Running is a reason to kill someone? They were after the car for a reason, they suspected it. They knew it was a possible kidnapping of a child. But even if they didn't. They shot at someone unarmed. You can't run and shoot like that.

@link4566 if she was running fast, you move your arms instinctively. You can't blame her for not thinking in a tense situation. Fact is that they shot an unarmed person that they were specifically sent to rescue. I mean just the unarmed part is incredibly bad. Did they think she was a suicide bomber... That's pretty rare here. Doubt they've had that experience.

@link4566 that's such a weird thought. If she ran away, and was shot, there would be some guy saying "why did she run away". And it's a kid, she was running to the cops. That's what people usually tell kids to do. Go to the adult.
