@whyamimrpink78 go tell that to the starving homeless person. It's not that hard that you can't tell who's better off at extreme levels like homelessness vs stable lifestyle.

@Anthropomorphic He seemingly described capitalist societies just as well. Some people were better for some tasks in squid game. They were all low level employees and one rose to be rich, but at the sacrifice of others. That's the American dream of the person that makes it. Seems totally unrelated to anything else. He's ignoring that you could look at it from the bottom segment of society. "How does capitalism look to the poorest people"

@Anthropomorphic but other than the clothes, you can say the same to subsidized things in a capitalist soc iety. Welfare program or soup kitchen(or school lunch). Remember that there's a child aesthetic. Like they're being sent back to elementary school and doing the competition again. Japan and S.K have notorious tests that determine your life.

@petrrtep7657 if it was a critique of communism. It would have been about working together and weeding out the people that didn't or some such. That's what I'd imagine a fantasy caricature of communism would be. Not about having a single winner get all the money. Remember the vice that they play on was gambling. People willing to do whatever for money instead of sharing. And having a higher entity isn't what communism even is about.

@whyamimrpink78 the creator is on record saying it's about capitalism. Now if you think he's wrong, whatever. But it is about capitalism and not communism or socialism. Take it up with him. Your position is factually wrong.

@j0j0dartiste21 good point. I'll add it's misleading to think these people over eat to the point of obesity. Often times they eat normal size meals. The food that some have access to, or time to make, is just not good. Or their parents didn't have time to teach them, and so on top they never got a taste for anything else and that's another battle.

that's a different discussion. I think people enjoy the show for what the show is and how they can relate to it.
