  2. The bias is ridiculous. Imagine some bully is punching you in the face repeatedly and you tell the victim, when are you going to make peace with the person assaulting you every day.

Holding out is a stronger negotiating position, with the possibility of Russia stopping/retreating. Surrender is absolute capitulation, stopping for the time being before Russia decides to do it again. If they're allowed to exist, or don't become a puppet state. They could lose their nation with no outside war effort that will regain it. The Russian gameplan was to go straight to the capital and pretty much take the whole country at first. It's upto them. They are still capable of fighting. They are still able to give comparable resistance. Do they leave the Ukrainians without a country, to live in a diaspora in foreign countries. That's a possible outcome of not fighting as well. It's not a calculation we can make. It's not a calculation you can fault zelensky for, as it's a potentially existential crisis. And it's very important to put the blame at the people causing it. And it's not zelensky. Zelensky is not being unreasonable. Putin and the Russian government are.
