That lived in experience does. But the U.S does something where kids just don't care to learn. And parents often don't care to teach. That disconnection is very common in general.

The last guy also had that attitude. I think it's cause he was opened from taking in a big city. It kinda primed him to be open.

Physically she's pretty. So the second one isn't true. The native English thing is true, as it's harder when you have an accent. Unless people like that type or it becomes a thing. Which is rare. She wouldn't be considering that if she was having that kinda success. The black people they like, might be more stereotypical. Though both options exists. Real life, it's not always easy to see which is the best. So it's not bad advice, especially the language part. I think we can assume she's facing her own difficulties over there to have her considering moving. To a place where a mix or traits aren't as unique.

@VincenzoC749 heh this is so weird that you're just here to be racist for no reason.

@VincenzoC749 it hasn't at all. They've even narrowed the region down.

@John-hp2hg that's not what they were referring to. But how nationality is looked at. Say you're in a country with immigration and you see an Asian person, you may not assume that they're foreigners. If they were foreigners but nationalized, you won't view them as foreigners. What counts as your nationality is view differently, both in terms of citizenship and perhaps ethnicity. You're thinking in terms of a foreigner arriving there. While the op was probably talking more of a foreigner blending into a national.

All the couples seemed cute. Hope it all goes well for all of them

It's not uncommon anywhere

I'm sure it's not negative. It's just how kids are when they grew up elsewhere. I see it happening. It's unfortunate but that's just how humans are If you really give a kid a choice. They don't see the need. It's not what they're used to ect.

It's interesting that their experience sounds a lot like just the immigrant experience even if they were born in the U.S, or are just half. Seems like the same flaws and things happen. The parents don't think to teach systematically. Maybe they aren't used to the idea, or they think it's better for the kid to acclimate to their current environment. Or the influence of the U.S where people more rarely learn languages. But it's amazing that these people went back and are trying too.

@basedchang2501 Racist always try to justify it. The comment was talking about restaurants barring him.

One of them said "open".

@pumpkin7889 he said 13 years. First 12 outside. But he said he was born there.

@Bryan-eq6nt they could be though. Just because the action isn't in front of you, doesn't mean it doesn't harm you.

it's something white people made up in academic circles in the U.S. In English it's already gender neutral though. Latin/hispanic. They made up a fake Spanish word. It ruffles some feathers since it's being applied and proposed as better to people that didn't agree to it.

Two Colombians, wonder what that's about. Colombian guy was so funny. Cause his mannerisms we're very familiar to me. "Colombians are hyper and talk alot", while he's animated and talks more than anyone. Colombia girl switching was cool too. I'm aware how people use different tones in languages.

@nenadpopov3601 aren't you agreeing with him then? But how could it be similar? Most modern western countries have similarities. They're close to each other. Canada is probably equally as different as Mexico to the U.S, or close to it. Except in language of course. Meanwhile the southern border states, have more similarities. Which follows, the border states near Canada, probably share some more similarities too.

@julitakamaki4386 "forced" Okay ... That's not true. You're just ignoring places that assimilated fully. And how many people of different backgrounds have successfully gotten together. Nothing wrong with similarity. But it's usually not "faces". Just feels easier since it's assumed that they'll like you more. Technically, all the 2nd gen people already have similar backgrounds in a place like the U.S. and that gets closer with each gen.

I don't think that's why. I grew up and there were lots of Asians from specific country. The U.S just tends to do that with everyone. The concept of race is bigger here. Everyone is a blob. In this case, it's not really worst. I mean maybe what you said is a partial influence. But it's always felt that way. And I've seen historical things that suggest it always way. Only difference is that before they used to glomp you with maybe one big nation too. So everyone was Chinese or Indian or Mexican/Puerto Rican instead.
