@John-hp2hg that's not what they were referring to. But how nationality is looked at. Say you're in a country with immigration and you see an Asian person, you may not assume that they're foreigners. If they were foreigners but nationalized, you won't view them as foreigners. What counts as your nationality is view differently, both in terms of citizenship and perhaps ethnicity. You're thinking in terms of a foreigner arriving there. While the op was probably talking more of a foreigner blending into a national.

@nenadpopov3601 aren't you agreeing with him then? But how could it be similar? Most modern western countries have similarities. They're close to each other. Canada is probably equally as different as Mexico to the U.S, or close to it. Except in language of course. Meanwhile the southern border states, have more similarities. Which follows, the border states near Canada, probably share some more similarities too.
