That's not the lesson. You have to pick the right thing. Train right ect. But there are still other benefits like exercise, and cultural.

Heh I'm sure TMAs feel the same..they've had full body and armor trainimg since kendo equipment. And have evolved to the space helmets of kudo. Even basic karate and taekwondo have gloves and helmets ect

I guess that's why they need martial arts, to learn to run as fast as sound.

You're wrong about xu. He challenges fruads who were basically forgeries, that weren't masters. And has gotten and spread ridiculous lies with some tv.nationalize agenda..he didn't have a problem with martial arts, even traditional ones in general

Hmmm.i don't think it has to be full contact. What I mean is that after a certain age, the damage possible isn't always worth it if someone wants to train.

They're called martial arts for the same reason the art of war is. It means the art of mars, i.e war and combat. Which is where they come from. .it's just that the original arts were full.systems.mainly.meant for weapons. Later ones removed that and became about unarmed self defense. And that's where evolution has been. This only started to happened around the 20th century and a little.before it. Karate and muay thai had a leg up on it. Muay thai became sport before most other MAs except wrestling. That was the advantage boxing had. The thing is that body ability also plays a role so a bigger person with more reach, youth, and reaction time is still all that, even if you have some techniques

No but there was a history of theater and martial arts that stretched back a long time..that's the role in movies. In real life it can be self defence, bodyguarding, police work, whatever various militaries use it for. And in ancient times, it was literally to use weapons and fight. Same as training troops to shoot a gun.

That's cause it is a form of wrestling. it's a form of folk wrestling. it's not freestyle wrestling. There's lots of folks wrestling all over the world. Sumo started as a festival game that became ritualized. There's lots of wrestling like that all over the world

Ahhh I don't know. You might be right but if it isn't meant to be effective or a.combat art in the first place, maybe not. It's like saying indian wrestling, the kids get.aboit pulling your arm, is ineffective. It's a game to begin with. So it's accurate but the intent migh matter with whether it should be considered. It's like saying a nerf gun is a bad gun..yeah that's true but it wasn't trying to be a deadly weapon.
