  2. ​ @keto0303  not only is that not the truth it's the exact opposite of what happened. NATO and Russia had a relationship for working together. Russia was treated pleasantly. When the US found Russia spies, it told Russia to stop playing these old games. When the possibility of Russia being a threat was brought up in the US, everyone laughed it off. Look at how much countries reached out to Russia to treat it normal. But Russia wouldn't change, then it defined change as bad. Truth is Russia never shook off the old guard.

  3. ​ @PancakeProduct  the east wanted protection from other nearby countries, and the NATO umbrella because Russia is exactly the type of country you need protection from. US did not push east. Russia is pushing west. Militarily, aggressively, and those countries don't want them there.

  4. ​ @Voodoo_Robot  Russia is creeping into their borders. Some already have borders with them. Russia expansion is imperialistic. It's by military force. The same can't be said for European countries joining a military alliance, or the EU. Russia attacks countries for friendship alliances with the EU. Despite hypocritically having those same alliances. Russia wants a land grab. No European country is trying to land grab Russia.

  5. @keto0303  The eastern European countries went to NATO and asked to join. Russia doesn't get to dictate that. What specific treaties are you talking about? Russia was already a bad actor almost immediately. The US has had constant guard changes. Obama even won by criticizing a candidate critical of Russia. How can you blame other countries for Russia's decision to be aggressive with its weaker neighbors, or it's turn to fascism and authoritarianism. Russia got aid. Russia was welcomed. An attempt was made and continued to be made. And Russia was the one that wouldn't accept change.
