@waterdamnaged the "far left" is Western center. And "classical liberal" has always been a conservative view. It was progressive when conservative was royalists.

@Nicolas-wd5ec I didn't say that at all. Both views are scientific(tho I'm talking about the right and the left since this is unrelated to the type of liberal a person is). And it depends on the issue. One side denies or tends to have climate change deniers that the scientific community is for. They believe in different economic theories/models at times. And what the moral thing to do is. What people are calling far left here is more about regulation and taxation and their uses ect.

@Runenschuppe it doesn't disprove anything. Both groups were progressives. The conservatives became conservatives because they remain. What is conservative shifts over time. If you consider yourself the far right?? Overall for Western culture what the progressive wing in the U.S want to do are very center policies. Healthcare being number 1 when something like 30-31 of the other developed nation's(that's all of them) have some version of it. Free public school is common among euro nation's ect..same for pay and time off ect. And it is conservative. All American politics is liberal in that sense if you use that low standard of classical liberal.

@TheMercian13 the left became right wing. The current switch is a return to form. And regardless of labels, it's a principle stance to try to help people. Look at the policies. And that switch is minimal and coming slow. And it's being fought hard. More than half the party hasn't changed. The people in control haven't yet.

@Nicolas-wd5ec The right isn't any better. And had those same problems for longer. Tho I get the problems with the liberal trend. What's practical to me is a policy that helps people the most. In any case a problem with the left doesn't make the right correct, or vice versa.

@Nicolas-wd5ec You can be left and advocate for freedom of speech. And Right and advocate against any number of things. So that's a moot point.
