@jgw9990 and you think they didn't say the same for every other system before? Some of you don't want to improve life at all. You don't want to or think improvement is possible. What kind of mentality is that. These things are not even about democracy. It's not the people who can afford yatchs that don't want change(even if it takes them two years). It's the people with crap water, or dying parents. That's the will of the people. And under a democracy, it would follow that the problems would be fixed.

@jgw9990 and people starved under capitalism unfettered. There's no point in what you're saying. We don't know know how much people are starving in Vietnam or Cuba. Or how about Britain or all of the EU. That's another flaw. There's a difference between development aand violent dictatorships. And a difference between reform and whatever it is you seem to think people want.

@jgw9990 that's really inaccurate. The world might be permanently damaged in a little more than a decade. People are poorer. And technology will probably displace the work force increasingly. As well as no you don't need major problems, which there are, for change. A hundred to a thousand small problems would constitute change anyway. You're confusing technological advancement with whether society has problems. Ignoring problems is not the same as there not being any. And that's ignoring the existing problems. The reason capitalism was reformed at all is because of pressure from socialist. Because FDR added programs to offset some of the problems. Because regulations on child labour will instituted. None of those are capitalist. But they were democratic.
