@johnadam2885 grabbing land doesn't do that at all. It doesn't solve anything. It's just disrespect. And theft.

@johnadam2885 Keep trying to blame others for Russia's decision, that no one forced them to do. Ukraine would not be maintaining it's integrity if it has to follow what Russia wants. And no reason to trust Russia's word of what it would do since it's broken it's word, over and over again.

@MrThartofwar Ukraine didn't refuse peace. Russia refused peace. Russia instigated war.

@johnadam2885 Ukraine didn't threaten Russia. Russian threatened Ukraine. Russia is the only one that broke it's word here.

@Dan-Martin You mean Putin's ego doesn't let him stop a bad idea. This war has had no benefits for Russia or it's people. The only compromise there could be is a referendum, or giving some donbas area, a regional autonomy. Russia should quit before they become a vassal state or lose Crimea.

@johnadam2885 that penalty is illegal. Anyone in the U.N has to follow that rule. You can't gain territory by conquest.

@johnadam2885 again Ukraine didn't threaten or kill Russians. Russia attacked Ukraine. Russia is the one that refused peace. Everything is on Russia. Russia had all the time to solve any dispute. Or to not care about them at all. Or to become friendly with other nations. It chose the path to kill as many people as possible on both sides. Ukraine didn't do that, Russia did. Russia chose this war. A war that's hurt the Russian federation's people.

@johnadam2885 you're mistaken. Ukraine declaration of independence had no clause or anything about neutrality. Two, that wouldn't matter, because that isn't a clause. Independence is for the state itself, not a contract. Ukraine independence is not predicated on Russia. Russia has just violated a country's sovereignty. And as said before, continually broke it's word.

@Dan-Martin It's not a benefit for them. And a lot of them have been injured. And a lot of them have died. For a gamble that might amount to nothing, and made the nation criminal. What in this war would have affected unemployment? The millions who've left Russia? This war has just hurt Russia's population issues. Ukraine followed Minsk. No one else did. That's why it fell apart. Russia certainly didn't uphold it's agreements or try to get it's proxies to. If Russia has to save face, I can't think of a better option than to say a lost is a win and wash their hands of it.

@johnadam2885 the budapest memorandum has no such wording in it. Russia doesn't own Ukraine independence. Russia recognized Ukraine as an independent country, that's it. How they got to it was by Ukraine giving up it's nukes. It isn't independence if someone owns it. That doesn't even make sense. What you're saying doesn't make sense. Think about it. I don't believe anyone could look at the Russian position, and think it makes sense. Because it's impossible. Ukraine didn't misbehave because it did nothing to Russia. Russia on the other hand, has misbehaved because it keeps trying to steal territory from Ukraine, and undermine it's sovereignty. Edit: and Russia went back on its word to not attack Ukraine in any manner.

@kylebuentello5136 Peace and stability isn't the reason. Not oppressing people is. Peace and stability doesn't matter in a terror state.

@jetli740 he used the word protect. You quoted him as protect. Protect means protect, not attack.
